116136 2003-01-23 07:54:00 I have just installed mandrake 9.0 and am wondering how to make konquerer bring up an internet connection dialouge box or KPPP.

Any Ideas?

116137 2003-01-23 09:50:00 Configuring your modem is actioned through network & internet which is found in the mandrake control centre from your desktop kde 'start' button, bottom left of the desktop.

You will need to write down which Com port your modem is on and have all your internet connection info at hand.

If you have an external modem, shouldn't be too many probs configuring and realising Internet access.

If you have an internal winmodem (a modem that relies on software drivers), you will have to go that modems internet site and check if they support mandrake 9.

If they do, check that they support the linux kernal version that you have installed. If they do provide support, there will be a program you can download and install. Once it is installed, you can configure for your internet access which I did with ny Conexant modem.

However, before you try this, I suggest you download the .pdf documentation manuals from the mandrake site. They are long, but very helpful

Allso, visit www.linmodems.org

I am a recent convert to Linux from windows and have found you have to be very patient as Linux is a new environment (for me) and also spend time reading help items on the internet.

Hope this is of some help.

116138 2003-01-23 19:36:00 I have already configured my internet connection - I am posting this message via mozilla in linux.

Every time I want to connect, I have to seperatly load KPPP. Is there any way to make KPPP load the same time I load mozilla or konquerer?

116139 2003-01-25 07:02:00 I have used the site below to create a dial-on-demand situation for a WIndows LAN and Linux gateway - not sure if it also works on the local PC??
