| 116198 | 2003-01-23 01:38:00 | I installed my copy of Works Suite 2000 on my new laptop. It worked fine for 7/10 days. The Word portion only of the suite then failed to load and threw up a MS Error Report. The Error Data report says:- Error Signature. AppName Winword.exe And a lot of code. I have tried to reinstall twice, tried to identify the signature file and tried XP troubleshoot without success. Can anyone help or do I have to purchase a new Works Suite? Thanks in anticipation....... OldEric |

A re-install will not necessarily replace all system files, have you done a complete uninstall from Control Panel - Add/Remove programs? Then a fresh install. Backup any documents you have created first. But before this, just try finding Normal.dot, the master template file. Probably under C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates Delete it. If it is corrupt, it can do strange things, and it will be recreated automatically upon Word running again. |
