| 116533 | 2003-01-25 22:29:00 | I have two computers connected running peer to peer one is windows 2000 and the other one running window 98se how do i share my internet connection the windows 2000 comp is connected to the internet is there some setting in window that can do this or do i have to run a proxy program |

Have a look at www.webattack.com The Jana server is good but pretty confusing layout. 602Pro Lan Suite had something I didn't like but couldn't remember because I switched to Jana. A lot of people use AnalogX Proxy and would possibly recommend it. I myself have not used it but have heard good recommendations for it. The proxy is installed only on Win2k. Once you have the proxy installed, configuring it will be difficult. You'll need to make the Win2k IP static since it'll be used as the gateway. The Win98 machine can get assigned an IP but I prefer making that one static as well. e.g. Win2k machine could be 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0 and Win98 machine could be 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0 Then on the Windows 98 machine just change the Internet Explorer Lan Settings to point to the Win2k machine. |
