116630 2003-01-26 03:23:00 I am running windows 98
I cannot defrag because i have no system tools under accessories. I used to, but i have either deleted them or they have just gone. Can anyone help?

116631 2003-01-26 03:31:00 For a start I would open your search box Start >Search and type in Defrag and see if that locates the program.

I suspect you might have deleted the short from Start > Programs >Accessories

If that brings up in the search results the familair Defrag Icon then double click to confirm that it is functional and ok, if so create a short cut and drag to your desktop or into Start > Programs > place where ever it suits you.

Assuming you have somehow deleted the Defrag program altogether then using your Win98 disk, go Start > Settings > Add/Remove Programs > Windows SetUp and double click each of the items in there til you find the one that has the Defrag program and install it by following the prompts, at this point you will need the CD.

Hope this helps.

116632 2003-01-26 03:49:00 Hi RobH,

Another way of getting to Defrag on W98,is to open "My Computer, right click "C" then Properties/Tools/Defrag.

Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)
