| 116745 | 2003-01-27 01:43:00 | Mon, 27 January 2003 Slammer worm slows Internet The Internet may be on a go-slow today as the latest computer virus moves through the global network. The SQL slammer worm flew through Internet networks across Asia, Europe and the US over the weekend. Experts are calling it the most damaging attack in 18 months. Microsoft New Zealand spokeswoman Carol Leishman hopes it will not hit New Zealand users too seriously. She says the Slammer targets Internet availability which will probably just hinder access. Ms Leishman says it is not yet known where the Slammer worm was launched from. |
