116942 2003-02-01 20:48:00 I'm curious to know the cause behind all this. Maybe it's been posted already but still ...
Is it
(a) a bug (microsoft or otherwise)
(b) virus attack
(c) hardware problem
(d) system overload
(e) dos attack
(f) hacker who stuffed up crucial files
(g) operator error
(i) other I haven't thought of
???

Might be, in the connection between the auth protocol and app server.

Nope

Nope because the system would overload
> (f) hacker who stuffed up crucial files
Nope, we've checked all files
> (g) operator error
Setup you mean? Possibly

We're looking at the authentication code. There's a couple of things that we may need to revisit. It's most probably a coding oversight.
