116960 2003-01-29 17:46:00 Thanks guys.
Im using XP. Reformatted and removed modem, Ihug Network card and had running Battlefield 1941. I then had PC Alert running on screen and had BurninTest (latest PCWorldDisk) running on same screen. I could watch the temp on PC Alert continue to rise until it reached 41-42deg then comp just resets. Talking to guys in Archie Tech all the temps seem fine. Ive tried 2 motherboards and 2 cpus over the weekend.

116961 2003-01-29 19:23:00 I have pretty much the same comp as you. Have you checked your CMOS setting for overheating alarm.
Do you use the "cooler xp" setting in PC Alert? Mine never gets much above 30 on both CPU and chassis guages.
When I first got this comp I used to have a lot of trouble with it dropping all running programs and then locking up.
I am running with FSB set at 140 and now have no problems.

116962 2003-01-29 20:00:00 As mentioned before, install latest drivers from nvidia & latest motherboard drivers.
Increase the hardware protection temp setting in the BIOS in stages to 45 then 46 then 47... till you get to 50.
If it is still resetting itself at 50 then right click "My Computer" on the desktop & go Properties > Advanced > Startup & Recovery > Settings & uncheck Automatically restart.

If still having problems, do a search on the Motherboards site for a forum or do a google search on your m/board & it will usually show up people writing to help sites & see if anyone else is having trouble with your particular board.

If others are having the same problems, you know what to do next...
