| 117092 | 2003-01-29 07:14:00 | I was finding that when a message arrived from my daughter in London it would go straight to the "Deleted Items" folder. Sometimes it changes so that there is a new sender sent to the deleted items instead of messages from my daughter. After checking, I found that if I went to "Message" , "Create New Rule for Message" it would show under (1) "Select conditions for your rule" a tick in the box "From where the from line contains people". (2) has no tick. (3) "Rule Description" has the insertion "Apply this rule after the message arrives -where the from line contains Webmaster@idg.co.nz. Presumably the next message from that source goes to deleted items ! Is it perhaps a virus ? I have been running AVG and also tried Penicillin House Call. Neither have picked up anything. |

| 117093 | 2003-01-29 08:36:00 | When you go to Message > Create New Rule for Message etc, all those ticks in the option boxes are the default settings. Unless you actually specify a rule in the "Actions for your rule" you cannot accidently delete or move to another folder that email. The reason why webmaster@idg.co.nz was listed in the 3. Rule Description area was that you had a PressF1 notification highlighted in your inbox at the time you went into the Message > Create New Rule for Message option. You need to highlight one of the automatically deleted emails from your daughter and then go into Tools > Message Rules > Mail and then see what rules have been applied to that email. You might need to scroll down the 1. option list to find the errant tick. I hope this helps, post back if you need more help. Jen |

I did what you said about highlighting the message (a new one as it turned out) and went to tools etc - but nothing was ticked at all unfortunately - so it is still a mystery . What can I try now please ? ?:| |

| 117096 | 2003-02-01 01:11:00 | That was it Jim B - thanks ! Don't know how it got there - probably at the same time as I blocked some unsavoury promotion re Britney Speirs !! Must go now - my wife reminding me that we are supposed to be heading off for a wedding. :8} :D |
