| 117086 | 2003-01-29 07:13:00 | To Godfather & Chilling_Silence, especially Having decided that this posting,should be read by others , previously not connected with my problem, I start afresh on F1's opening page. Have to report that after your advice on the Icon losses and crashes,as having to be originating about the CD drive area , either itself or the connections, there-in-- (I had pushed every conceivable plug - felt no movement but had a week of free of troubles), ---then away it started again. More frustration, until one of my young tutors dropped by, put in a replacement IDE cable---time 7 minutes!!!! Result: absolutely no crashes or loss of Icon. Marvellous- Software failure or manipulation is not the sole answer apparently- even good old mechanical connections have their headaches So Thanks one and all effie c |
