117166 2003-02-01 05:23:00 Go to www.netguide.co.nz and you can find all the ISP's and prices, which is a bit easier than reading all of these. One thing puzzles me though - why would anyone use Xtra?? twelvevolts (2623)
117167 2003-02-01 05:36:00 After years and years iHug/Ginge is a Dog so I finally put him out of his misery and beefed-up Clear to Home 150 at $14.95(?)/mth max 150 hrs (which is 2x or 3x the hours I need/want)

I have always enjoyed at least one 'back-up' ISP to facilitate performance comparisons - including Xtra until they wanted $2.50 per mth minimum fixed; that's when I walked away from them for good !

Ginge was forever having "first local router status" issues and even worse, plus too many disconnects but worst of all was the lack of bandwidth - it stuttered and stammered causing all sorts of problems (try and hold a netphone conversation with that sort of fragmentation !)

Early days but Clear 'has' to better than that crap iHug puts out

Now my e-mail (mainly pdf) screams in (old "56k" modem but a goody !!!!)

Now that I've sorted that out it's time to look at giving Vodafone the big flick, too - coverage is zilch here at the office and at the motel MAF put me in when they spray dear old aunty PAM. I've also sent Genesis packing - every bill took too much effort to check/verify payments etc so I'm about to see how Mecury do it. Now if only I could change City Council's so easily - I'm sick of these Hypocrites out West ....

PS: obviously a ruthless year ahead ........

117168 2003-02-01 05:43:00 666.29hours/31days=21.5hours/day
when do you go to sleep?

Paradise 250hours/28days for $20
This equates to just under 9hours a day.

8hours work, 8hours net, 8hours sleep; recipe for a good day!

117170 2003-02-01 07:57:00 i go wif Clear 150hrs for $15 a month. incl 5 real email addresses.

if u hog the line for ages. then go for jetstream starter or equivalent. better than purchasing a 2nd line and a ISP charges when jetsctream starter is about the same price (i think). only extra cost is the adsl modem.

117171 2003-02-01 08:05:00 56k paradise $20.00 for 250 hours every 4 weeks.
I use about 30 on a big month.
Also have an xtra account for $5 / month just for my emails and for emergencies when Paradise is real slow, which is hardly ever.

Yeah.. Ihug gives us 5 REAL emails... My uncle is with Xtra who simply forward all the mail to the primary account :(

This might have changed more recently however.. :-)
