| 117340 | 2003-01-30 09:08:00 | Bought a liteon cd writer installed it "sweet as" . Looked at my computer & there it was "good". played a music cd then a rom"every thing cool" Then installed the acompanied Nero Buring Rom"uh oh" After that When I looked at my computer it would come up with an empty window & 0 items the bottom left corner so I tried defrag & that wouldn't do any thing. The internet would still work but not media player. every thing that would not work would completeley lock up the pc. Celeron 700mhz 128 mbram Win ME. How embarasing seeing as it is my sisters pc & I was trying to help out & now I feel like a real dufis. I can't help but wonder if it has one or two viruses. The only virus protection it has is some free off the net AVG thing. Unfortunatley She has no operating system cd or any other software cds. It disgusts me that companys sell pc without the software cds . If I really get desperate I will reformat with win98. |

| 117343 | 2003-01-30 09:38:00 | if the nero was on cd i doubt it was the latest so try the latest ver. allso while your at the nero site look for the nero check i think it may be called. it checks to see if the drivers are installed which can come uninstalled when installling nero. | tweak'e (174) | ||

| 117345 | 2003-01-30 11:46:00 | Try uninstall Nero, Try using system restore, if none of these work try looking on the c drive for the win 98 files, these are normally installed on the harddrive in a separate folder if the disk is not surplied (c:\win98) it should be there. If the first two options don't work go to this folder if it is there and run setup and over install windows this should fix all the problems, if it does work and you get your CD burner working copy the files inside the win98 folder to make you own win 98 disk | Marty K (2971) | ||
