117145 2003-01-29 12:07:00 World-Net (www.world-net.co.nz) Unlimited 56K @ $20 nz_liam (845)
117146 2003-01-29 15:18:00 I assume you are talking DSL. World-Net limits speed for different types of things you do. You'll find P2P programs are restricted quite a bit that downloads are poor. Unlimited is offered but restrictions are in place.

It's an ok ISP to go with if you aren't into FTP and P2P.

117147 2003-01-29 15:19:00 My mistake, didn't see 56K but there are cheaper ISPs offering unlimited for less than that. Kame (312)
117148 2003-01-29 17:35:00 56k paradise $20.00 for 250 hours teddybear (2443)
117149 2003-01-29 19:55:00 Snap (http://www.snap.net.nz) "unlimited" plan.

It's 280hrs guaranteed. AFter that they may start locking you out for 10minutes every 2hrs.

Yes, That's a "Must have", as Ihug had probs about 3 years back when you had to sometimes try for up to an hour to get online during the times of 6PM to 9PM!!!! They're all better now and havent had a failed Dial-In in about 2 years :D

117153 2003-01-29 23:11:00 Paradise Net/TestraClear(Saturn) cable, 128 kbit/sec, volume allowance 10GB/month (equivalent, rated on some formula with a "cheaper" count for NZ access. I've never succeeded in using it all: I only rated about 6.5 GB over Dec/Jan last/this year). Above that, if I ever get there 2c/MB national 20c/MB int'l.

It's part of an Internet/TV/two-phone-lines package which costs $135/month. Intenet+one phone line only is priced at $82, so I guess the 'net component is $65 or less.

Very reliable (they had a 10-hour dropout a few months ago, due to a server problem that took them some time to diagnose, apparently, but most of that was in the early morning).

Argus

OT: The TV service, excellent from Saturn, has now been Sky-ised and gutted. About 1/3 of the theoretical 99 channels are missing altogether (the set-top box skips over them), and about another 1/3 have the same dreary movie promotions. They took away Turner Classic Movies, and I can only get it back if I pay! But I still get charged the same fee.

117154 2003-01-29 23:43:00 Same as argus.. except i often come quite close to my 10gig allication, and i dont have cable TV, so i pay $108 for 2 phone lines +Cable modem
5 mail boxes, fixed IP, and they seem to like people running servers.
