| 117624 | 2003-02-01 05:36:00 | Hi, I am running XP Pro and have a small problem. My partner has allowed her friend to use our computer (using my partners user settings) and has been checking her emails from time to time. The problem is that when XP loads on the user menu screen under my partners name XP displays that there are 67 emails waiting. They do not belong to my partner so I am assuming that the email notification is for her friend. Her friend comes over periodically here to use computer or sometimes to cybercafe so I don't know when she will be here next. Does anyone know how to remove that notification on the user menu? I also note that if other users have 'switched users' and left programs running there is also notification but I still want that to continue. Thanks in advance. sam m |

| 117625 | 2003-02-01 05:49:00 | sam m, You can use the TweakUI for Windows XP power toy available from TweakUI_XP (download.microsoft.com) or from a NZ PCWorld cover disk The option you want to turn off is (within Tweakui XP) under Logon | Unread Mail More information is available from Microsoft KB (support.microsoft.com) Cheers, Babe. |
