117696 2003-02-01 23:24:00 Hello all,...... Phew, I didn't realise that getting through to Press F1 was so difficult! Been trying for a couple of hours - success at last! But! Don't use emoticons! Tried several times and just deletes the whole message!

I have saved all my digital images to CD and can retrieve them from there no problem. However I seem to be unable to access the time and date option into Windows, PSP or email. No problem printing the data from the supplied software; however, the programme will not recognise a right click so there is not a transfer option there!

I understand that the T & D option is incorporated into a EXIF file. I'll show my ignorance - what's that? How do I retrieve the data to Windows, PSP or email? Thanks, Bill.
P.S..... Guess what Santa brought me for Christmas?? no prizes for the correct answer! Bill. :-))

117697 2003-02-02 04:09:00 Try downloading IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/) and its plugins. One of the plugins is:

EXIF - (version 3.80): allows IrfanView to show EXIF information from JPG files

See the PlugIns page at IrfanView for this info.

117698 2003-02-05 07:14:00 Susan: Ta muchly!

I have downloaded Irfanview and installed.

I would like to say that this has resolved the problem but I still can't seem to transfer the T & D into PSP. I follow all Irfanview inst. but come to a shuddering halt at this point as highlighting the image in PSP doesn't give me the option of putting the data in the image. And I can't find PSP's Clipboard. Do you have PSP on your PC?

I have spent literally hours on this prob.........still trying!
Thanks, Bill.

I sure do . In the Help file it refers to the clipboard as being the Windows one, so it appears that PSP doesn't have its own clipboard . Have you got Windows Clipboard Viewer installed on your computer? It might be worth trying that .

I don't have a digital camera so I'm not sure why you want to transfer the T & D into PSP . IrfanView is a small graphics program in its own right but it doesn't have the capabilities of PSP of course .

The only thing I can suggest to you is to try the PSP newsgroup as the last time I looked about six months ago they were very good at answering people's questions .

117700 2003-02-05 07:50:00 Thanks, Susan,

Yes, I looked on the Windows clipboard but there was nowt there! I did get a message on exiting that the clipboard was chokka and likely to overload the PC memory and slow down the operations! It wasn't and it didn't! Just made me wonder if PSP had their own clipboard.

Several reasons for requiring the T & D in the image, not the least of which is the personalising of the email information in the image to rellies!
Also, in the case of accidents, motor or otherwise, the relevant time details could be of major importance! I have found in the past that photos can be very helpful, one way or another!

I'll have a look at PSP home page again and perhaps go to their usegroup - just thought it may be quicker locally.
Thanks, Bill.

117701 2003-02-05 08:59:00 I just tried copying the EXIF info, from within Irfanview to the clipboard, and it all copies OK (try pasting into Notepad etc - as it is text). Being text, you can paste it into the 'Text Entry' box in PSP, but you will have to edit out all the unwanted info. :| wuppo (41)
117702 2003-02-05 20:16:00 Hello, wuppo, Susan,

Thanks for the info. I'll give your info a go, wuppo. I did try previously to "highlight, send to clipboard" from IrfanView but I must confess that I only accessed the "Word" clipboard and there was nothing there - and that was before I wiped all the clipboard files!

However, FYI: I have just received an email from PSP (JASC) advising that PSP does not support the recovery of EXIF file info. They have taken on board the suggestion and are going to look at it for future updates.

So, hopefully we have achieved something positive! Thanks again,
Bill.
