| 117965 | 2003-02-03 08:10:00 | While I was installing new software and doing a restart the monitor made a funny noise, now when my pc starts up the screen is wonky and the writing is a wishy washy color instead of white on black. I get all the right info but its out of shape, when the desktop loads its all there but the color is wrong. Also when the first failure occurred I had to reconfigured my monitor settings so I could use it. Any help, I am shopping for a new monitor incase it fails altogether. The monitor is a 17 inch KTX, 2 years old being driven by a Nvidia MX440 video card. Any help, jr. |

Is the screen washed out consistently all over, or is the colour mottled? (installing new software?) can I ask what was being installed, was it anything to do with video card? |

| 117967 | 2003-02-03 10:02:00 | Hi euan111, I was upgrading drivers for display and audio after Win XP install, I am still dual booting with 98SE, when I return to 98 its the same from the boot up to the desktop. The look is washed out all over, its like the power output of the display has decreased. jr. |
