117761 2003-02-02 05:39:00 Try again, blast it.I'll have to copy this before I post it.Tried recording a cd to hard drive using Win Media Player.Tried playing the track back in Winamp,it sounded like it was skipping, plays ok in WMP of course. My question. The help files don't mention what format(?) it records in,that I can see.Is it worth using WMP to do this and getting rid of MP3Workshop,dbPowerAMP,Free Rip,etc, etc?Is it worth upgrading WMP?I have version 7.01. Comments, please.

117762 2003-02-02 08:08:00 wmp is fairly useless. default format is WMA.

dbpowermp is ok tho i prefer cdex.

117763 2003-02-02 12:20:00 Another vote for CDex. It produces MP3s which are more flexable than WMAs and uses the best MP3 encoder around (LAME).

You can get it here (http://cdex.n3.net/).
