118399 2003-02-04 21:35:00 My clock seems to have disappeared from my task bar! I dont know when either, it was just like that when I came into work this morning!

My taskbar is set to Auto-Hide up the top if it makes any difference, but how do I get my clock back?

The "Show Clock" is ticked in the taskbar properties and so I unticked it and re-ticked it, hit apply and still nothing!!

Here's a Screen Shot:
No Clock (sal.neoburn.net)

Normally the My Computer toolbar sits right next to it, but its fully gone and I dunno where to???

Thanks

Try disabling your "My Computer" pop-up menu. Does that bring it back?

also you may have to look into the prog that loads up everything in the corner, AFAIK it is part of explorer.exe so you might have to reinstall over the top of windows to get that back.

118402 2003-02-04 22:01:00 Ah, its back.

I hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc and it brought up my task manager.
I tried going Run and typing in Systray as I noticed that wasnt going (Not sure if it was meant to be.. It is in 98) but nothing happened, so I found explorer and selected Kill Process and it did and my taskbar fully disappeared.

I then went Run and typed explorer and it came back, but ICQ was still gone.. I just had to end-task that and re-open it...

Thanks anyways :-)

118403 2003-02-04 22:04:00 Something that often works in a weird computer type way.

Turn off computer. Say in a loud voice "I won't play with you unless you behave!" Count to 10 (slowly) then turn it back on.

118405 2003-02-04 22:10:00 oh, and it also really helps if you count to 10 out loud in a really menacing tone of voice! Heather P (163)
118406 2003-02-04 23:21:00 You mean chilling, you didn't even restart the computer before posting this message? roofus (483)

It appears he has resolved the problem. Judging by the times on the posts it looks as though he has gone to lunch. This strongly indicates a clock is working somewhere...

Yup... 3 Minute Pasta is very yummy :-)

I did reboot.. It didnt seem to fix it though which I thought was VERY weird, seeing as it would/should have appeared when explorer loaded up?!

Im a happy chappy though.. Got my clock back, and it seems to be happy staying there for the time being :-)
