| 118365 | 2003-02-04 12:17:00 | WIN98- Upon Boot CD ROM is Detected and you can view the contents of the WIN98 cd in dos. When Windows Loads the Drive cant be seen in My Computer ( A:, C: appear). Have attempted to boot from WIN98 and load with CD rom but with no Joy. What are some commands that you can manually type in to make the CD rom load and appear? Have played with the Device manager and IRQ settings and CD rom controllers with no joy. Whats the command format for using MSCDEX.EXE ?? Any help on loading the ROM! | tanzpete (3093) | ||
| 118366 | 2003-02-04 20:15:00 | In device manager, check the IDE controller (under "Hard Disk Controllers". Under the "settings" tab you should have the Dual IDE channel Settings on "Both IDE channels enabled." Give that a try. otherwise, search your registry for "NoIDE". Delete it if you find it. g |
