118056 2003-02-04 00:53:00 Hey there,
I'm going to be getting Jetstream starter soon, mainly because it allows constant net connections and frees up the phone. Also, it offers the largest download limits whilst generally being a bit cheaper.

Currently I am looking at IHUG, which gives 10 gigs for ~$65 a month.
What I'm wanting to know is, does anyone know a better deal than this for the Palmerston North area (or else a toll free way of accessing it...)

Cheers,
Jonathan Giles

118057 2003-02-04 01:14:00 Hi

The price for Jetstream Starter is pretty much the same from all ISP's I think. (~$65/mth) but you might want to check a few because not all of them have a data limit like ihug's 10 gigs.

Maxnet (http://www.maxnet.co.nz) is one off the top of my head.

118058 2003-02-04 01:59:00 Snap Internet in Christchurch used to offer a Jetstart deal of $35 a month unlimited downloads. Additional to that is the "2nd phone line" of 30-35 that you pay Telecom. I am sure Snap have toll free access for Jet as well as dialup. Gordon. (2217)
118059 2003-02-04 01:59:00 Hello Jonathan

I have ADSL and I am on Jet Start (telecom use to call it) Jet stream Starter
And my ISP is quicksilver. And there are good!

I get 10 GB of data.
Have a read here www.quicksilver.co.nz

Also have a read of The Netgude website:

www.netguide.co.nz

That page has a list of ISP that do high speed

To my knowledge: the only ISP that is uncap ISP is orcon: http://www.orcon.net.nz/
( I am not too sure?:| if there is others out there please let me know :) .)

also there is a thread on press F1 users ISP and how much they pay:
pressf1.pcworld.co.nz

who is your isp at the moment?

Hope this help
from Stuart.

118060 2003-02-04 02:10:00 Paradise have $30 for 10GB/Month. International is charged at 1MB for 1MB. National is charged 0.5MB for 1MB.

Of course with all JetSream Starters you have to pay Telecom $30 per month as well so that works out at $60 per month.
