| 118648 | 2003-02-05 20:27:00 | I recently brought a Mustek scanner I installed it into a HP laptop and a PC it went alright for about two days and then stopped working and hasn't worked since on either machine. The scanner attaches through a USB port - when I connect the scanner to the computer the new hardware process only finds a unknown USB device, it doesn't recognise it as a Mustek scanner. I rang the reseller of the scanner who walked me through deleting and reinstalling the scanner, which I had already completed a number of times on both machines. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same or similar problem with a mustek scanner and/or any suggestions? | vickeryr (3100) | ||

| 118650 | 2003-02-06 02:03:00 | I had an old Mustek Scanner that connected to the LPT port. The drivers that came with the scanner (ie in the box) had known errors, so after a bit of irregular behaviour I resorted to checking Mustek's website. I found an updated version of the driver, downloaded & installed it, and everything went fine after that. So try checking for updated drivers for your model of scanner. | KerryD (1620) | ||

Imaging Technology (ph 916 4125) is one of their resellers and they should be able to give you a phone number for Mustek (or do a search via White or Yellow pages or UBD). I think 573 1196 will connect you to someone at Mustek but it may not be the person you need. | Robin S_ (86) | ||

Take it to the shop and ask them to show it working on a computer, or to replace it under guarantee. If it worked, the software was OK. So you shouldn't need new drivers. If it doesn't work on two computers, the unit is probably faulty, rather than two USB ports. |

I have had problems with the scanner disappearing - PSP says it's not connected. To fix this, unplug the scanner, delete it from Device Manager, and plug it back in whereupon it will be redetected. |
