| 118604 | 2003-02-05 09:32:00 | I have an Everex 17 inch monitor, from Dick Smith, and ever since I've had it, it's had weird 'colour blobs' in the top right and bottom left corners. For example, when the screen is showing pure white, the top right corner has a blueish tinge, the same type of edge effect that a singed piece of paper would have. The bottom left corner also has a similar 'blob' effect. It doesn't extend more than an inch into the monitor, and is only in those corners. I took it back to Dick Smith to get a replacement... except the replacement didn't work at all! They said they had found no fault with the monitor, so I came back to swap it (again, and for the original monitor this time). I took it home and everything seemed fine, except now and again you could see the blobs.... otherwise, perfect colour. Now, I have just shifted it across town, and after setting it up in it's new room, the blobs have returned. Do you think these are from moving/shifting it, ie force applied on the case? I have had to (gently) put it on it's side, so I could attach the base. I'm hoping these colour blobs will disappear over time, but if anyone knows what they might be and a good way to fix them, I'd be very happy to hear it! PS - Yes, I've degaussed my monitor. Several times. PPS - The computer itself doesn't seem to be doing anything to influence it, as I've also ran it from the VGA out of my laptop and it's the same effect. |

Corner errors you can't fix are a warranty problem usually. Speakers too close would normally affect both sides equally but check that too. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
