| 118600 | 2003-02-05 08:55:00 | How can I transfer single fonts between two computers which are not networked? It seems that there is some resistance to moving a font to a floppy. | wjohn (2330) | ||
| 118601 | 2003-02-05 09:26:00 | Font files are usually pretty small and there should be no problem transferring them via floppies. What do you mean by "It seems that there is some resistance to moving a font to a floppy"? Some might be marked Read-only and be resistant to copying - cancel the Read-only or change the attribute to Archive. | Robin S_ (86) | ||

Otherwise, try copying the whole folder to elsewhere on your HDD and then select the one that you want from there???? Make sure you are going Copy and not Cut! Cheers Chilling_Silence |

| 118603 | 2003-02-05 20:29:00 | Strange ?:| I never met a font I couldn't copy and I transfer them regularly between computers, usually via floppy in the past but via network now . Normal file attributes such as read-only don't stop copying, they only prevent alteration, moving or deletion . Are you trying to drag and drop to the floppy, and if so, are you sure you are not accidentally trying to move the file? Windows is not actually all that intuitive sometimes and the move/copy actions reverse under some circumstances . A simple drag and drop or Ctrl drag and drop should copy without problems . Note that Ctrl is superfluous when copying single files but some people insist on using it regardless . Cheers Billy 8-{) |
