118855 2003-02-06 12:29:00 I assume you are running IE which always does that... in internet explorer there's an option to turn off Script Debugging I think it's called. I'm not in Windows/IE so I can't give you exact instructions but have a look in the advance options and just uncheck that option. Kame (312)
118856 2003-02-06 21:35:00 This is not a problem with IE but a problem with the site you are visiting.
To stop the error messages go to your tools | Internet Options menu.
Click the advanced tab and under "Browsing" tick "Disable Script Debugging" :-)

118857 2003-02-06 21:45:00 Lots of web pages have errors on them. This is generally caused by web designers not doing a thorough testing across a range of browsers and browser versions (who wants to test a page across 12 or more browsers and fix it so it works perfectly in them all? Not too many people).

Generally they test in one, maybe two, see it works and put it up. If there are major errors the pages won't work, but some of the more minor errors don't seem to make too much difference so the errors remain (and a lot of people won't test for the minor errors anyway so don't know they are there).

Disable script debugging and you won't realise there are errors - most of the time - either.

It's not you or your computer - it's the pages themselves.

118858 2003-02-06 21:50:00 A further point - if there is a major error let the owners know. Our work site had a glitch in the indexing the other day. Not something we have tested for on a regular basis. It was fixed promptly once we knew about it but it's possible it was causing errors for 24 hours. Heather P (163)
118859 2003-02-07 02:42:00 Yes, just disable Script Debugging. The people who made those sites did. :D Graham L (2)
