118740 2003-02-06 01:54:00 My hard drive is currently partitioned into two segments one with windows and the other just for media and stuff if i format the one without windows will i still lose windows on the other partition Cra5h (2966)
118741 2003-02-06 02:11:00 I am assuming that you have a C: and a D: drives. C is for your windows and other programs ? is that how you have it.

If you format the data drive it should not in anyway affect the drive with your windows OS and other programs on.

Of course before formatting D:(assuming that your data/media drive is in this case D:) you should back up your data as always.

118742 2003-02-06 02:14:00 Formatting the non windows partition will not delete your windows partition.

Probably the easiest way is to right mouse click the My Computer icon and select explore. The right click on the drive you wish to format and select the format option from there.

That way at least you can be sure it's the right one:)
