Yea, freight is something to watch, I ordered a SMALL component from Digi-Key in the states, it cost me around $40, but the freight, ouch, AFTER they shipped it they sent me an email saying the freight cost $140 (highly un-professional), to make matters worse, when I got it i found that they sent it in a huge fedex box, when a box 1/10th of the size would have been suffice :( |

2003-02-07 23:32:00 | Hi again Billy T, > saying that it is genuine and PF1 users have bought > software from this source? > how much they might surcharge for freight or what > might be done with my credit card details. Are you > saying that 9software prices and products are > genuine? The genuine buyers are from a forum in US,not PressF1 users! To satisfy my own curiosity I have asked 9SOFTWARE if they ship offshore and costs involved if they do! Will keep you posted,Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)

2003-02-08 00:46:00 | Billy: I had a bit of a browse yesterday, and didn't bother adding noise. But I came across Symantec's "opinion" of that company, and that "good deal". They are selling illegal copies of Symantec software. Symantec have their lawyers after them. The crooked company's web site has such poor security (despite your impression of a "professional" site) that their customers data (including credit card numbers, addresses, ...) are wide open. This might have implications ... I suppose Symantec might be able to discover who has bought this pirate ware. ;-) An innocent company had a page which matched the name of that crooked company. They have had to remove the legitimate page becuase of the spam and hate mail they have received through the actions of vigilantes, who attack by search engine matches, without thought.

2003-02-08 03:26:00 | If someone, unsolicited, offers to sell me something for a fraction of it's retail value over the net my instant reaction is that it must be illegal, immoral or a scam. If 2 or more people present the same offer then I'm even more certain that it's a trap. However other people may view things differently. As you appear to be persuing this with some interest may I take the opportunity to suggest that there are other methods to vast wealth available to one in this wired world? Due to a lack of time, not, I hasten to add a lack of inclination, I have been unable to follow up on an interesting offer that recently appeared in my inbox. A gentleman by the name of Anthony Thabo from South Africa has offered me $US15.75 million. I will freely hand over his address if required but will request a 10% finders fee when the money arrives in your account. Interested?? ]:)

2003-02-08 06:57:00 | Sorry Heather, I regret I cannot take advantage of your generous offer, you see I am currently awaiting delivery of well over US$100 million to my personal bank account from several most generous sources. One with most impeccable credentials is the current President of the **A (sorry, but for confidentiality reasons I must beat about the Bush and not reveal his nationality). There have been teething problems of course, but my contacts assure me the the money will be released soon, once the necessary palm-greasing has been satisfactorily concluded. I am surprised and humbled that so many distressed widows, orphans, retired Generals and misunderstood businessmen have managed to find my confidential email address to offer exclusive (but confidential) access to their personal wealth. :8} Cheers Billy 8-{) :D
