119207 2003-02-08 00:34:00 The Rectcle Bin is always empty. What am I doing wrong? Granddad (3115)
119208 2003-02-08 00:53:00 Try deleteing something:) or if you already have and they are not showing in the recycle bin, go into the bins properties and untick where it says "Do not move files to the recycle bin, remove files directly when deleted." Danger (287)
119209 2003-02-08 00:56:00 You are not doing anything wrong. Nor is the computer. :D Either you never delete files, or "Someone" has told the computer to delete files immediately. ;-)

Right click on the Recycle Bin. Look for the option "Delete Files Immediately", and "uncheck" it (click on the little box).

Welcome to PressF1.

119210 2003-02-08 02:27:00 Dear Graham L.
Thank you for your advice and how nice of you to welcome me to PressF1.
I have been to the Recycle Bin "Properties"as you suggest and find that "Deleted Files immediately" is already unchecked.
The Recycle Bin used to be full, every day.

119211 2003-02-08 02:36:00 You aren't holding down the shift key when you delete files are you?

and ofcourse you have been deleting somehaven't you.

119212 2003-02-08 02:37:00 Ummm. :-(

Have you changed your style of working? I find that I rarely delete files in Windows, (but I rarely use Windows :D). The "always full" Recyle bin ... were they always freshly deleted files or did they build up until the bin was emptied one day?

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply.
I find that "Do not move Files----------" is already unticked.

119216 2003-02-08 03:26:00 Aheeeem?

How about right clicking on recycle Bin and then left click Properties .

Let’s know what headings you have and the settings under each one .

If you have Nortons Systemworks the Recycle Bin may be “protected .

On the other hand the size may be set to zero .

Also your version of operating system could be helpful .

I’m sure we’ll find the problem in due course .
