| 1329467 | 2013-02-22 08:10:00 | Broadband has just arrived in my area, Taupaki (near Kumeu). A few things to note - We have received a Technicolor Modem from Telecom. When I initially attempted to set it up it took the best part of 20-30 minutes for the broadband light to fully light up and stop flashing before I could proceed. - While the ping has improved on our old Farm Side connection, the download and upload speeds have decreased. Just did a speed test using the speedtest.net tool. The result were ping - 85, download speed - 0.29mbps & upload speed - 0.20mbps. This speed seems very slow. Has anyone got any suggestions to improve it? |

| 1329472 | 2013-02-22 08:48:00 | It could be the modem. Telecom might send out a replacement modem if no other causes for your connection problems can be found. Did they give you an indication on what sort of speeds are realistic for your connection? | Jen (38) | ||
| 1329473 | 2013-02-22 10:31:00 | My guess is if you are rural and have only just got DSL you're on a mini dslam/conklin and as a result are going to have sucky speeds. Ring telecom tell then you're having speed problems and see what they offer. You can get a master splitter installed but it may not help in your case. |
