2013-02-20 23:30:00 | I'm going crazy ... almost. My internet speed often plunges to around 11 Mbps which results in webpages loading slowly or not at all. Could somebody please tell me how I can check on where the problem is. Is the culprit my computer, modem or service provider? Many thanks for your help.

2013-02-20 23:38:00 | Have you scanned it for malware? Cleared the browsers cache? What browser is it? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

2013-02-20 23:48:00 | Try IE. See if it's as slow as FF. If it isnt, there maybe a prob with FF. Have you installed any toolbars? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2013-02-20 23:52:00 | No toolbars. First quick test revealed that speed is normal with IE. Maybe the luck of the draw will try some more. | Cyberhuskey (13067) | |

That would be the fastest ever. Run ADSL speed test during the day http://www.nzdsl.co.nz/ Try doing the obvious like restarting PC & router when the speed drops down Try disabling any online backups, Windows updates, P2P, torrents etc Try plugging directly into the router: it might be a wifi issue TURN OFF any cordless phones, video sender units, anything that may interfere with the wifi etc etc Run a malware scan with malware bytes . The only real/practical way to test if the router has issues is to try another router. |
