2012-09-28 03:28:00 | . . . . and it wasn't fun! Radioactive thorium (?) (I think) in two half-doses and lots of scanning and rest periods with scopes and scanners/techs watching . Had several 'events' in the doctor's office and they still don't know what's causing it . Their thoughts lean toward: "electrical issues" . So now I'm wearing an event monitor for the next 30 days . It has a satellite uplink, it can dial 911 for me automatically, and I also have a Panic Button on the front of it in case I feel like I'm gonna die . Oh yeah - it has a built-in GPS with a 24" resolution (NZ= very close) so they can find my dead body rather easily . I told them to just watch for the circling buzzards . Had sick-o nightmares last night after I got home from the test about Hippie Communes and their eco-friendly toilets . I refused to use any of them, as they were just too odd, smelled bad, were still wet from the previous user, made-from-leather and were filthy-dirty, looked strange and rather perverted in design (it was a dream - right?) and I got up and drove away in my 1959 Chevy (which still needs a paint job from when last I saw it in 1965) - trying to find a toilet to use in the next town - maybe another 100 miles or so down the road . Damned side effects from the test chemicals . They told me to expect some more of them (effects) in the next few nights too . I wonder where my nightmares will go tonight? Dreaming about needing a toilet is a (good?-bad?) sign --- right? My advice: don't get old . I hope they manage to find the problem and get you back on the straight and narrow before you have too many more bad dreams about hippies (hate those hairy armpits on the girls.)\ Too late with the advice about getting old!! Get well soon.

2012-09-28 06:19:00 | Jeeeez Joe, youre flash in Right Way up Land. Weve got to queue for Dock Leaves down here. My old ticker is stuffed too. Bloody VIR insulation from the 40s. When the Ambulance picked me up a month or so ago they slapped the ECG on me and asked if I had two Pacemakers, because if I did they were having a hell of a fight over who was in charge. Seems the Heart and Arteries are in fine condition but the electrics are stuffed with crossfire everywhere. And I had to laugh about your dreams. They put me on a drug called Amiodarone which is supposed to have the same side effect. Well, Im still waiting for the excitement, and Im still waiting for it to work too. Ahhhh, but there's nothing wrong with being old mate, at least we got to grow old. ;)

2012-09-28 06:38:00 | I had the camera up the tailpipe a few years ago and they gave me an anesthesia for it - but it also gives you amnesia too . I guess it's to help you forget the whole experience (not an intentional pun, there) . Well --- the next day when I awoke, I swore that I hadn't had the test although I couldn't figger where yesterday went at all . I called the VA hospital and told them I must've slept the day away and was sorry that I missed the appointment . They told me the test was done and I had been there and it was negative, nothing bad was found . WELL! I knew I never had the test and told them they were wrong and that I needed a rescheduled time for it again . We got into a big argument on the phone right then and there and they told they get these phone calls every time - most emphatically this time . I told them they were nuts and I demanded a new appointment . We went on like this for fifteen minutes -- arguing until I figured they MIGHT BE RIGHT and just hung up . I called them the next day and apologized . They said it happened like that all the time and to not worry about it . PS: I'm sure it never happened though .

2012-09-28 07:29:00 | I have just had another 24 hr monitor on my ticker. Twice in hospital and now one at home. They cant find any reason for the stroke I had. Not as techy as yours Joe. I had a bad morning yesterday, a bit depressed, which is common amongst stroke people. My cure was to drag myself around the front of our house for the first time in 3 months doing the edges, weeding and and cut the lawn. Thankfully the mower handles replaced my stick. Boy was I beggared but very happy after nearly 3 hours. May not have done a lot compared to past times but I was pleased. Bet it made the monitor buzz a bit :-) Remember the old saying..... old age is a *****, then you die I Ken

Bet it made the monitor buzz a bit :-) Remember the old saying..... old age is a *****, then you die I Ken Yeah, I had one of those Halter Monitors attached a couple of weeks ago and the Cardiologists report back to the GP read something like: There were multiple events, so many I didnt bother to count them. Oh dear. They then decided a Stroke was inevitable the way things we were going so they put me on Warfarin. Great, the Warfarin and Amiodarone had a set to and I started to cough up blood. Off to hospital we go. The INR hit 7.9 and we wound up on Vitamin K to try and kill the Warfarin and reduce my INR reading. Honestly, drive a man to drink. Which brings to my attention that my after dinner Port Glass is empty and requires a refill. ;) |
