The context of the texts are the very reason why a 19 year old male should have realised that this was not appropriate with a 12 year old. Nope, they aren't. Which is why the law (rightly so) places responsibility for cases like this onto the adult. He was the one who is deemed to be responsible, he was the one in a position of power, he was the one who abused it. Maybe she didn't try and stop him, but he was the one who should have know better. |
