1303180 2012-09-24 22:42:00 It appears that a blunder has occurred because the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) unlawfully snooped on Dotcom. They are allowed to spy on foreigners but not on New Zealand citizens or residents.

Prime Minister John Key says he is "very disappointed" government spies were found to have illegally bugged millionaire Kim Dotcom, but refused to comment on why they did it.

1303183 2012-09-25 00:22:00 Keeping a weather eye on Germans is quite necessary considering how much grief they have given us New Zealanders. prefect (6291)

1303185 2012-09-25 01:43:00 GCSB broke the law. The person who authorised it MUST be prosecuted.
No point in having laws, if its deemed OK for a certain few to break these laws. They would have known.

A mistake, or not knowing is no excuse. Those excuses dont work for Joe public.
If we get some prosecutions, with real convictions & a meaningful sentence, of those responsible in the GCSB, the I bet this wont happen again. That would send a meaningful message to all Govt depts.

I sort of think its looking more likely that NZ will end up with a huuuuge payout to dotcom, for his losses in this fiasco.
