The following videos are my attempt to compare it with my desktop i5-2500k (4.1GHz): dl.dropbox.com (6MB) dl.dropbox.com (6MB) The performance is better in practice than these videos show. That's because the screen capture software (aTubeCatcher) causes a hit and also because I have halved the resolution in the case of the i5-2500k to get the file size down for posting. I have reduced the video bitrate to 1.5Mbps for both clips Here are the specs of the L840/03R: - 14", red, 1366 x 768 - Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit - i3-2350M, 2.3 GHz (2 core) (HM76) - dedicated graphics HD7670M 1GB (+ another 1.8 GB shared) - 4 GB 1333MHz (except that she has increased this to 8 GB) - 500 GB 5400rpm - 2 x USB3, 1 x USB2, HDMI, DLNA - 2.058 kg incl the extra 4 GB RAM, 6 cell battery - boots in 1m20 (after loaded with software) (desktop = 1m10 but it is sorely in need of a reload) - L840 has Intel's caching tech but not WiDi |
