1303593 2012-09-26 22:40:00 I don't know if we have many world of warcraft players of the forum, but statistically there should be a few :)

Anyway, Mists of Pandaria came out Tuesday evening and like a true addict I took Wednesday off work to play it.
So far I'm liking the monk class and I'm also levelling a panda shaman just to round out my classes. The new start Area takes about 2-2.5 hours without rushing and then you are back into the same old grind to level 85 which I think is the major downside. After all these years playing and multiple max level characters playing through the same content again is a bit dull.

What surprised me at least for lower levels is how easy the healing monk is to quest with, you get 50% of your non-white damage back as a smart heal and your intellect translates to attack power and spirit convets to hit and expertise so DPS is actually pretty good so far, twinked out in BOA gear my healer is often 1 or 2 shotting mobs and 3-4 targets at a time is not a challenge. A bit too easy perhaps but I'm not interested in struggling my way through familiar content so I'm taking every advantage I can.

I've also played my hunter through to level 86, new content is pretty good. Basically straight forward questing. So far it doesn't feel as epic and new as Lich king/ Northrend did. I tried one of the new dungeons and it seemed pretty cool, need to do it again with a guild group so we can take our time and learn the dungeon, the random group just rushed on through with no explanations and it was a little hard to follow. After half a day and one Dungeon a bit under half my end game epics have been replaced.

So anyone else playing, how are we liking it?

I feel like WoW is on the decline and MMORPG players are waiting for something to replace it, lots of games have tried and there are masses of negative posts about WoW claiming various games are better but so far nothing has come close to the user base or longevity of WoW.

I never really quite got into WoW personally.
Tried SWTOR for a bit, thought it was cool at first, but quickly became aware of its many short-comings and went back to LOTRO.

1303595 2012-09-27 06:13:00 I though SWTOR was great to start with also, but it didn't hold my interest and I didn't even play out the subscription time I paid for. Not sure why exactly, maybe because it completely stole WoW's control interface and playstyle but didn't really add anything other than setting and cool graphics. A jedi Night is a star wars version of a WoW warrior. I got sick of DC universe even quicker, the best part of that one was creating the character and watching the opening cinematics.

I played LOTRO for about a week and lost interest in that as well, not because there's anything wrong with it but because these games require a big time investment to play through which kinda forces you to pick one and stick with it until you've had enough. Not sure how WoW sucked me in, but it's habit forming and after a while it became my time waster of choice.
