| 1303368 | 2012-09-25 22:38:00 | Moral of the story 'neither a borrower nor a lender be' Lord Polonius (from Hamlet) Bit tricky when the usurers have control of the government, eh? |

| 1303372 | 2012-09-25 23:28:00 | Haven't read it all yet, but this snippet took my fancy..." Their ability to originate and resell debts was a major step to creating a fictitious financialized economy." The idea of making a profit out of buying and selling debt has always struck me as dubious to say the least. However it is the worlds ever increasing population that seems to have enabled the growth of the "fictitious financialized economy". There are ever more and more people (suckers?) out there to enable the sharks to create and sell debt to. It is like a huge pyramid scheme. |

| 1303375 | 2012-09-26 04:43:00 | 'neither a borrower nor a lender be' They had a doco series on Sky a while ago along these lines, how it all started, why and all that. As for the quote - so the alternative to not having a mortgage is to be either rich enough to not need one or rent. The latter doesn't appeal, tried that, a miserable experience it is. |
