| 1303292 | 2012-09-25 05:48:00 | I've got a couple of those. My favourite (not in the photo) is a TenkeyMatic, a 10-digit electro-mechanical machine that does division! The Multo in the photo (with the handle) was the standard surveying calculator until the HP35 was introduced in about 1973. My flatmate, a surveyor, added me to a surveyor's order of HP35s ($340 a piece). When delivered, it had been changed to a HP45. I've still got it Also in the photo, on the left, is a Bauer 16mm projector. Anybody want it? Free to a good home...(in Wellington) |

| 1303294 | 2012-09-25 23:25:00 | Brings back memories; the Monroe, both hand cranked and electrically cranked. Believe it or not it was possible to calculate a square root on these! (can't remember how) One these was guaranteed to annoy if set one to divide by zero, which when division is done by repeated subtraction, never ends, and is very noisy. Also the Ohdner? hand cranked machine used mainly in survey calculations. Not a slide rule in sight! I have 3; 2 Diwa, one 5inch and one 10 inch and a PIC 10 inch. I also still use my HP 28c calculator bought in 1986 for just over $500. |
