1302806 2012-09-23 00:01:00 I probably know the answer.

But I was wondering if it possible to have two isp's on one standard phone line.

The reason is that I may be moving to a house where they have broadband with Telecom.

And I want to take my broadband with my isp and keep my email addresses etc.

1302808 2012-09-23 00:54:00 I once changed my ISP from Xtra to Orcon. For $5 a month I was allowed to retain my Xtra email account. I always logged into Xtra from my Orcon Account. Bobh (5192)

Unless you got a 2nd phone line installed.

That option of paying to keep my email addresses sounds good.
I'll call my isp to see if they do it.

1302811 2012-09-23 06:23:00 For that reason alone I have all my email addresses with Gmail and one with the new MS outlook but I always download my emails to Outlook for office gary67 (56)
1302812 2012-09-23 08:43:00 A few years ago I got a free for life email account from Orcon. This is my main email address. My current ISP is with Telecom but like a lot of people I keep switching ISPs. There is a need to have an email address that will stay with you no matter what ISP you change to. Who knows what ISP I will be with in a years time. Bobh (5192)
1302813 2012-09-23 09:17:00 Mmm for years I have always thought that gmail accounts were best for travelers or spammers etc.

But now I can see a good reason for them.

I think Gmail will be around longer than many of our isps.

(I have been with the same isp for about 8 years but I may have to change due to circumstances)

1302814 2012-09-23 20:59:00 Gmail works well for me. Next to no spam and no problems whatsoever. I went to it for the same reasons as listed above. Of course I do miss out on those free money offers from Nigeria though. CliveM (6007)
