1302668 2012-09-22 01:34:00 After the person told me I had all these viruses etc on my computer and how he could fix them I told him I was a computer tech. He apologised to me and then hung up. His phone number was 023565459.

1302669 2012-09-22 02:06:00 Awhhhh you just spoilt his day.

You do know now he wont be able to feed his family, as he didn't make the income / commission from his helpful call. You mean bugger

1302672 2012-09-23 11:59:00 After several months of peace, it seems that they are back again. I had another one yesterday, this time it was an Indian female. I was sorely tempted to make a rather offensive remark, but I simply interrupted and told her to 'drop dead' then hung up.

She didn't call back.

I received a scam email for 'Linked In' today too; the usual request to validate something. That is the first I've had for that site since I became a member. Once again, Mailwasher showed the full header complete with their real email address. Is there anything I can do with that address that would cause them problems? I'd love to get scammers chasing scammers until they all disappeared up their own fundamental orifices. :devil

Perhaps I could sign them up for Nortons, or Act maybe........

Cheers

1302674 2012-09-23 19:35:00 We got another one yesterday
My daughter shouted in his ear and hung up on him.
Some words that began with F and I

I wonder if the workers at these "companies" know that they are working for a company that is trying to rip people off ?

Its funny that many other scams come from Nigeria, yet all the computer virus calls are from India.
Apparently most of the email scams come from China

1302675 2012-09-24 15:05:00 I feel obligated to post because I got a call like that, too, although the caller used a different phone number. He said he's from Microsoft and that he called to inform me that his company detected a virus on my computer and that he'd help me fix it. The catch is, he'd charge me for it. Which means I need to disclose credit card details to an anonymous caller over the phone. I told him I got a mac and I'm not interested.

But if that caller was a scammer, I'd say he was very convincing. Sounded very professional.

1302676 2012-09-24 15:10:00 The caller's phone number was 800-698-9034. And I wasn't surprised when I found it reported at www.callercenter.com Looks like this caller has been making the rounds. I'm wondering why he's not yet thrown to jail. turiya (16364)
