| 119517 | 2003-02-09 03:57:00 | Hi everyone, My IE explorer is being hijacked by a 'internet accelerator' I downloaded (which was useless) and hijacked my IE homepage. (No trojans though, I checked) I've tried editing it via registry (HKEY_Current_User > Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer > Main > Start Page) and it's still not working. Everytime I start IE, it runs my default page (google), then when It directs me to google.co.nz, it instantly changes it to www.searchex.com. Some help here please? |

| 119518 | 2003-02-09 04:01:00 | Manual removal Before you can delete the two DLLs Searchex installs, you must deregister them . To do this, open a DOS command prompt (from Start-Programs->Accessories) and enter: cd "%WinDir%\System" regsvr32 /u IEBrw . dll regsvr32 /u HomePage . dll You can then restart and delete the files IEBrw . dll and HomePage . dll from the System folder (Windows\System under Windows 95/98/Me, or Windows\System32 under Windows NT/2000/XP) . Finally, reset your homepage (Internet Options->General->Start page) and search settings (Internet Options->Programs->Reset Web Settings) .
