119444 2003-02-08 21:41:00 I am running Win XP home. I have installed a second hard drive formatted OK. How do I install XP on that drive without overwriting the original drive.?

Why would you want to?

You can't have two version of XP Home running at the same time. If you just want it for storage then you have done what you need to and it should appear as a seperate drive and simply use it as such.

119447 2003-02-09 01:24:00 Well then simply install it from your boot disk and select up the drive you wish to install it on. It will give you a list. Then you will get the option when you boot each time which one to use. You will of course need to activate it again. May be harder to get rid of though.

A friend did it acidently so it does work but he put it on the same drive. It just took his C partition of Fat32 and split it and installed it there. And yes the drive was already partitioned into about 6 partitions.
