If you're going to use the search function, how about seeing where it is that I've encouraged someone to "download" an mp3. Like I said, there's a difference in legality here. One situation relates to discussing the compression and quality of mp3s, and this situation relates to someone asking how to download an mp3. Very different situations. Lo. |

There are plenty of artises out there who put there music out for free because they want exposure and this is a good way of getting it. There are also many movies that are free, programs are free or shareware and can be used by anyone and downloaded by anyone. Don't tar everyone with one brush because the flame may come back and burn you. |

People get all worked up because once upon a time Loshing and I discussed how to back up a software cd. Every Tom Dick and Harry had something to say on the issue. But no no MP3's are ok, cause music artists don't expect to be paid for their work (sarcasim). Then after the comments that came from that software post loshing decided to say that pressf1 isn't the place to discuss mp3's + kazza as there is a legality issue, but NOW its ok, cause it's just MP3s. And who are you trying to joke by saying that people use kazza to download the free artists music, what a crock. |

Pinching is illegal whether its a pack of Gum, $10 Million dollars, computer software or music. Nothing to do with each to there own at all. I don't want to start a big debate but merely point out how the hypocritical nature shows that its bad to talk about copying software but to steal others music is ok. |
