Since you have managed to do "sample only" if you save it as a .dot before putting any text over the top that will/ should give you a template to work off whenever you need to use it. Hope that makes some sort of sense for you. Pauline. |

| 119479 | 2003-02-28 23:26:00 | Hi Misty I think that because everyone installs Word with differing options and on different O/Ss it becomes quite hard to offer help. One good thing about MS is that there is nearly always more than one way to do something. I have just successfully inserted the words Sample Only over an object in a Word 2000 Doc running on Win98. You can use WordArt or a Text box. The main problem is that your object with the form in it is not transparent, so it hides the watermark. 1. I placed the Text Sample Only in a text box. 2. I formatted the text Font, size, etc. 3. I adjusted the text colour so that it was quite pale. 4. Used Format > Text Box > Layout Tab and selected Infront of text. 5. Format the object in the same way only set it to go behind the text. Hopefully this will work for you too. oldfart |

| 119481 | 2003-03-01 03:07:00 | Misty I have Word 97 and have done some messing about with this. Check it out. 1. Left click Insert WordArt from drawing tool bar or go insert picture WordArt from dropdown menu. 2. Click on style required and go OK 3. Type text as required, adjust font, size etc and go OK. You should now have some outlined text on your document. 4. Left click on one of the letters and the WordArt toolbar should appear or right click a clear space on the word toolbar and click on WordArt toolbar. 5. Go to Format WordArt and change the line to no line and the fill to a pale grey (or any other colour or use more colours) and tick the semi-transparent box. Click ok. You should now have the grey text you want for your watermark 6. If the watermark keeps splitting the text on the document then go to - Format WordArt wrapping and click NONE. This will bring the document text back together. 7. Here a trick. Left click to highlight your watermark and on your drawing toolbar click on Free Rotate. This will allow you to rotate the WordArt to any angle across the page. 8. Now right click WordArt and go copy and paste to any other document. 9. Hows that then?? Cheers Shooter |
