| 119896 | 2003-02-10 02:05:00 | im running on 95 but want to upgrade to 98. I have a cd to upgrade but keep getting the message "your comp already has an operating system installed which cannot be upgraded by this version of setup. You need to obtain w98 upgrade" I thought that was what I had ?? why wont my comp accept this ? | elenihan (3132) | ||
| 119897 | 2003-02-10 02:07:00 | Perhaps you bought a full 98 CD and not the upgrade? Are you sure it's ONLY the upgrade? |

(This will lose all settings, etc, and the full version might want to format the disk anyway). You could try looking for another setup.exe on the CD. There is often one in the directory holding the .CAB files. That should work as an upgrade/repair_reinstallation setup. |

| 119900 | 2003-02-10 02:44:00 | Systems are always more stable if you do a clean install anyways! It may be time to whip out some floppies or whatever method you choose to use, check the Pf1 FAQ (Top-Right) and backup your system ready for a format! |
