| 119809 | 2003-02-10 00:09:00 | Basically the differences are 1) Shareware is a program or utility that you can download to your computer and use. If you like the program you are then asked to send money to the writer. Sometimes after purchasing the program you will get sent a registration caode that will enable additional features. 2) Freeware is free to download and use, but sometimes there are restrictions like free use is only for private use and if you are a business or using the program for commercial gain then you should pay. 3) Adware is either cheap or free, but the program will show lots of advertising and in certain programs actually sends information to marketing companies about what sites you visit etc. Hope this helps |
