| 119779 | 2003-02-10 04:56:00 | Big John.. Go to whatismyip.com Asuming you are a paradise customer it will be 203.98.49.150 I could forward you email excerts from paradise techs saying how they have agreed to remove chatf1.net.nz and farr.net.nz from their proxy. You could also talk to Liam who saw paradise customers by the same IP since he set up chatf1, presumably he will now see us by our true IPs No points for guessing what this IP would be. There ARE proxys their are no easy ways round them, and if you know a failsafe way round them.. LET US KNOW .Clueless |

| 119780 | 2003-02-10 05:00:00 | I'm not against proxy's either, if it saves the ISP money then in the long run should save you money (or at least stop price hikes concerned with data). However if a proxy is used then it needs to be as transparent as technologically possible and well maintained, and should also NOT cache pages that use dynamic content. If all those things were done then there should not be a problem, however in this case paradise had neglected one or many of the above, which has caused the problem, and in reality being that the proxy server is a (if not the) key part of the network it should have a high priority for all aspects of its operation, (of course this isin't an ideal world, but its nice to dream :D). Cheers Liam |

| 119781 | 2003-02-10 05:03:00 | Also if the ip ends in 151 then it is also a proxy, they have more than one. | nz_liam (845) | ||

Well then you're one of the few users who's traffic isin't being routed theough the proxy server (I think). If you login to ChatF1 then I can comfirm that you are not going through the proxy. | 119785 | 2003-02-10 07:39:00 | Your IP Address: 203.98.48.151 So that's why Paradise has been so sucky lately, and I am getting lots of error messages, but when I switch to FreeNet there's no problems. Would this also have anyting to do with slow connection speeds and incredibly long "verifying user name and password" processes lately? (no, I don't have log onto network ticked). I run a scan in the following IP block - here are the results. | 119787 | 2003-02-10 07:44:00 | sorry about the double post but Paradise disconnected when I pressed Post Message, then would not reconnect (invalid username????) - so I used FreeNet. Obviously the first post made it through.. | Jester (13) | ||
