119977 2003-02-10 06:26:00 Dimension4 (http://www.thinkman.com) does the trick and is free.

119978 2003-02-10 06:55:00 WinXP can connect to a timeserver automatically when you connect to the net and update your time for you so it's always synchronised.

If the time is slowing down while you are normally using your PC then you may need to look into replacing the CMOS Battery which is the battery that looks after the System Clock.

119980 2003-02-10 08:02:00 Hi there Ladybug
Have you downloaded and installed SP1 for XP. I was having the same trouble as you mention, but as soon as I installed SP1, the problem went away.
Cheers

119985 2003-02-10 10:22:00 Hi ladybug - in answer to your question what is sp1?? SP1 = Service Pack 1. In other words the first release of bug fixes/patches for windows xp all together instead of downloading them separately.
It is a good idea to have these installed as they do fix alot of common problems and security holes in the o.s (operating system) they are for.
If you have only had your computer a couple of months, depending how you brought it i.e if win. xp was preinstalled?, you may have sp1 on your system already, but you also may not, so best thing to do is check.
If you use liveupdate it will have notified you if you have it set to notify you, but you can either check by going - Right click "my computer" - then properties - Then under the general tab, where it says System: It will tell you there, after the windows xp version, if you have it.
Also while you are there - in the system properties, Check the Automatic Updates tab, to see if you have it set to notify you when new updates are available for xp, and change the setting if you want it to notify you when updates are available. OR However you can just run Windows Update Manually by clicking on - Start - Programs - windows update - and it will scan your system and tell you what updates you need and if you need SP1.

If you haven't got sp1 on your system and download it from windows update, remember it is a large download compared to the normal updates, depending on what kind of connection you have of course, mine took 5 hours on a rural dialup connection. So if you can find it, it is always good to get it on c.d, i heard a rumor that pc world mag was going to have it on there c.d around this month???
Anyway i hope that helps with your sp1 query :-)
