| 120306 | 2003-02-11 10:15:00 | My computer has a virus which identifies as.- I-Worm/Yaha.k and is found in file.- c:\System Volume Information\_restore{C5CB5E37-CC02-4525-8937- 3FD725E1EBD7}\RP47\A0036920.scr I have run my resident AGV virus scanner/shield but to no avail. Unfortunately, I am using XP as my OS which means I cannot enter MSDOS to locate it. A phone call to Microsoft didn't help either. Thier advise was to get on the internet and find an online virus killer and deal with it that way and by no means touch the registers. I have tried every online service I possibly can including Panda, and Mcafee and all other programs designed to kill this thing but to no avail. Does anybody know how I can get it killed. Your help would really be appreciated Thanks in anticipation Ben |

| 120307 | 2003-02-11 10:29:00 | Visit www.sarc.com click the link to online encyclopedia and search for your virus. You can remove the virus from XP in safe mode. Instructions are on that site how to get into safe mode in XP. |

| 120309 | 2003-02-11 10:46:00 | benjud I suspect that the virus is actually resident in your system restore folder and if so, it is quite safe as long as you don't use that restore point. I don't use restore so I can't tell you what to do but this question has been answered several times on F1 so either do a search for virus + restore or wait until this post is read by someone who knows the process.
