120155 2003-02-11 04:54:00 Hi ya
I'm thinking of getting a TV tuner,
i just need to no a few things first -
wot resolution should it capture - i have seen some that capture 720 x 576, 768 x 576, and 640X480.
also, i'm thinking of spending about $100, wot would you guys say is the best from these:
Pixel Veiw Play TV high definition
Pixel veiw Play TV Pro
Excel TV/FM Tuner card

cheers

120156 2003-02-11 06:42:00 i've just been thinking about it.
Does it really matter wot res. it captures?
Because if the TV channel is only - say - 600x 400, it will only display it at this rate won't it???

120157 2003-02-11 08:05:00 I'm never sure if I should comment about spelling. I guess it doesn't matter to many PF1 posters. So if thats you, just ignore me.

But: talking about TV tuners, Fergie used words spelled like:

no - did he mean Know
wot - did he mean what
veiw - did he mean view

Cheers..

Yup -i did mean those words.
i would use the spell check option but i'm only on dial up - and i don't have the time to wait around, i guess i could copy paste into Word - but it doesn't really matter does it?

120160 2003-02-12 08:42:00 stu140103 What version of PixelView do you have.......Pro or High Definition? Muzz (1286)
120161 2003-02-12 20:20:00 Pixelview seems pretty good. Most are pretty much the same though. Although I think that there is really only 1 TV Viewer software out there - TView (9x / 2000) TView 2000 doesn't mean Windows 2000, just version 2000. I'm using it at fullscreen at 1600x1200 although thats the monitor resolution output and not the TV card output. You can adjust it to around 720x340 or something with some setups. Depending on Gfx card & monitor I think.

Look for options like FM Tuner and / or Nicam sound. Makes it nicer to listen to.

If you get cunning enough & mathematical enough, there are apps out there to watch Sky for free. Seen it done but haven't done it.....
