128mb ram,
cd rom
sound card
4+ Gb disc space
56Kbps modem and net access
Software needed : ms office 2000 professional or better

My cousin needs a computer by Feb 24, I have sent emails to some companies for prices, but they havnt replied. Starting to panic.

Could someone please help me get prices for the following. Also advise on things, and make suggestions. Want the computer good enough to run a couple of games also.

Athlon XP 1800+
256mb DDR 266 RAM
DVD ROM
CD Writer
64mb Geforce 4 mx 440
56k modem
XP Home
17" Philips Monitor
Soundcard (needs to be a descent one, but not too expensive)
reasonable speakers
keyboard, mouse, whatever else
Software needed : ms office 2000 professional or better

Price cant go over $2200 inc. gst

Would like it cheap as possible with those stats.

Needing it fast, so Please help.

120559 2003-02-12 19:17:00 for the older machine you could try the trade and exchange, if u live in auckland you might find a good computer auction where you can pick up that sort of machine (excluding monitor) for maybe $200-300.

For that new machine try qmb
www.qmb.co.nz, i find they are the cheapest in auckland and can probably put a good machine together for you... you can get student discounts for microsoft software from dse
