| 120854 | 2003-02-13 06:38:00 | Hi, I'm looking for a cheap (free) app that will allow me to converse with my brother while we are online. I know netmeeting and AOL do this sort of thing, but I don't want a Micro$oft product. Does anyone know of any software (freeware....I'm a tight fisted user :) that will allow one to one voice communication? A very simple app would do fine....no bells and whistles need. Thanks, nzscratch. |

The only catch is that you and your brother will have to make an account with whichever messaging service you plan to use. I find ICQ to be the best. Trillian was on a recent PC World magazine disc if you want to save yourself a download. I am not sure which issue though. |

The options Susan recommends I believe will be good for typing. Especially ICQ which I use often. However, if you want to talk, using mics speakers or headphones, a good free program is: http://www.paltalk.com |
