| 120806 | 2003-02-13 04:08:00 | A "printer cable" is a printer cable. :D Or it used to be. :-( The old parallel cable with a DB25P on one end and 26 pin "Centronics" connector will not harm your printer or computer. But if it's an old one, the printer might not work "properly". The new IEE1284 cables have slightly different construction (of the wires)for better behaviour with newer hardware. If it works perfectly, which it probably will, that will be nice. But if there is any problem, get a new IEEE1284 cable. After checking that the port has been set to the appropriate setting of SPP, EPP, EC. The manual will tell you which it wants. |

Was it brand new? were you advised of this when you purchased it? as surely I would be insisting that they supply at least one, if not both cables. sam m |
